Contraband / Contrabando
Contraband is defined as anything that is not purchased in the institution commissary, issued by a Staff Member, or approved through Receiving and Discharge (R&D). Any item in your personal possession must be authorized and a record of receipt of the item (Form 383) should be kept in your possession. Items that have been altered or belong to another individual are also considered contraband. Possession of contraband may result in disciplinary action. Altering or damaging government property is a violation of institutional rules and the cost of the damage will be levied against you.

Effective January 30, 2009, all inmates are prohibited from obtaining or possessing Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) financing statements and similar forms. All inmates are also prohibited from obtaining or possessing any documents which contain unauthorized personal information, including, but not limited to, home address, home telephone number, social security number, personal email, or home fax number of any jurors, witnesses, informants, or any federal official, including, but not limited to, Bureau of Prisons staff, United States Attorneys, Assistant United states Attorneys, Judges, and other Federal agents. Possession of personal information about immediate family members of a covered person is also prohibited. If you are found to be in possession of these types of documents or information, the items will be confiscated. You will be subject to inmate discipline and your case may be referred for possible prosecution. You may use the administrative remedy process to challenge the confiscation or rejection of such materials.

Contrabando es considerado cualquier articulo que no se haya comprado en la comisaria de la institucion, emitido por un miembro del personal o aprovado por el departamento de recibimiento cualquier anticulo en su posesion debe se autorizado y recibo de dicho articulo debera mantenerse en su posesion. Articulos que hayan sido alterado o que pertenesca a otro individuo tambien son considerados contrabando. Posesion de contrabando podria resultar en accion diciplinaria. Alterar o danar propiedad del gobierno es una violacion de reglas institucionales y el costo del dano usted tendra que pagar.

Todos los presos estan tambien prohibidos de obtener o de poseer documentos que contegan informacion personal no autorizada, incluyendo, pero no limitado a, direcciones residenciales, numero de telefono residencial, numero de seguro social, direcciones de correo electronico, o numero de fax de jurados, testigos, informants, o deun oficial federal, incluyendo, pero no limitado a, empleados del Departmento de Prisones, Abogados de los Estados Unidos, Assistantes de Abogados de los Estados Unidos, jueces, o de otros agentes federales, posesion de informacion personal de miembros de la familia inmediata de una persona cubierta esta tambien prohibido. Si se encuentra que usted esta en posesion de estos tipos de documentos o infoemacion, los documentos seran confiscados. Usted sera sometido a disciplina y su caso podria ser referido para posible accion judiicial. Usted puede usar el proceso de remedio administrativo para desafiar la confiscacion o el rechazo de estos materiales.
